Wasim Akram (Punjabi: وسیم اکرم; born 3 June 1966) is a former Pakistani cricketer. He is a left arm fast bowler and left-handed batsman who represented the Pakistan national cricket team in Test cricket and One Day International (ODI) matches.
Akram is regarded as one of the best fast bowlers in the history of cricket. He holds the world record for most wickets in List A cricket with 881 and is second only to Sri Lankan off-spin bowler, Muttiah Muralitharan in terms of ODI wickets with 502. He is considered to be one of the founders and perhaps the finest exponent of reverse swing bowling.[1][2][3]
He was the first bowler to reach the 500-wicket mark in ODI cricket during the 2003 World Cup. In 2002 Wisden released its only list of best players of all time. Wasim was ranked as the best bowler in ODI of all time with a rating of 1223.5, ahead of Allan Donald, Imran Khan, Waqar Younis, Joel Garner, Glen McGrath and Muralitharan.[4] Wasim has taken 234-wicket hauls in ODI in 356 matches he played.[1] On 30 September 2009, Akram was one of five new members inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame.[5][6]

Aizaz bin Ilyas Cheema known as Aizaz Cheema (born: 5 September 1979, Sargodha) is an international cricketer from Pakistan. He was part of the bronze medal winning team at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China.When Pakistan toured Zimbabwe in September for a Test three ODIs and two T20Is, the national selectors took the opportunity to give inexperienced players an opportunity. Frontline bowlers Wahab Riaz and Umar Gul were rested and Cheema was chosen as part of the squad. On 1 September he made his Test debut against Zimbabwe; Pakistan's fast bowlers in the match were inexperienced at international level, with just one Test cap between them. Pakistan won the match and coach Waqar Younis praised Cheema's performance, saying he "bowled with fire and aggression".His first wicket was that of bowler Ray Price. Cheema took eight wickets in the match for 103 runs, the second best bowling figures by a Pakistan player on Test debut. Pakistan won the subsequent ODI series 3–0; Cheema made his debut in the series and his figures of 3/36 were the joit fourth best by a Pakistan bowler in his first ODI.

Shoaib Malik is an ex captain of the Pakistani cricket team. He made his Test debut in 2001 against Bangladesh and One Day International (ODI) debut in 1999 against the West Indies. Malik was appointed Captain on 19 April 2007 by the Pakistan Cricket Board, replacing Inzamam-ul-Haq. Former skipper Imran Khan, who led the team to World Cup glory in 1992, backed Malik for the role earlier the week he appointed a captain.

He started his career as an off spinner, and is now regarded as a useful batsman with a batting average in the mid 30s in both Test and ODI cricket. In Tests, he has a better batting average against Sri Lanka and South Africa than other nations. In ODIs he has a better batting average against India, South Africa, and the West Indies than his overall career average. During his Test career he has batted at 5 different positions, mainly either opening or at 6th position. Malik has the unusual record of batting at every position except 11th in ODIs. Pakistan’s recent poor opening statistics have lead to Malik being alloted the position of opener in Test matches.

Nasir Jamshed - Pakistani Opening Batsmen.

Following an impressive 74 for National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) on his first-class debut when aged only 15, Nasir Jamshed was selected for the Pakistan Under-19s side to play the visiting Sri Lankans. Scoring a 44 and a 204 on his debut, he helped his side draw that match after Pakistan had conceded a 253-run first-innings lead. Although he failed to replicate those performances for the remainder of the season, he remained part of the NBP squad as well as representing Lahore. Jamshed was also part of the Pakistan U-19 squad that successfully defended its title in 2006, beating India by 38 runs.

Jamshed's break, however, came in the 2007-08 season where he scored 800 runs in ten Quaid-e-Azam Trophy matches with the help of three centuries and was selected to play for the Patron's XI side that took on the touring Zimbabweans. A 182 off only 240 deliveries was enough for his name to be shortlisted for the 15-probables for the ODI series.

Azhar Ali

Azhar Ali Biography
Azhar Ali who started played at the tender age of 16 saw his dream turn to reality when he found his name in Pakistan squad for the Test series against Australia in 2010 and the joy was made all the more sweeter when he made his Test debut at the historic Lords.
The right hander who played his first game for Lahore in 2001 has over the years improved on his game and starting 2006 onwards was one of the most prolific scorers in domestic cricket. He went on to play for Pakistan A before being propelled into the national team when the team decided to look beyond veterans Mohammad Yousuf and Younis Khan. Following their loss in the 1st test, Ali played a fine knock of 51 as Pakistan chased down a tricky 180 set up by the Baggie Green in the 2nd test. His fine unbeaten 92 was also instrumental in Pakistan taking a priceless lead in a Test against England.
Normally an opener, he continues to bat at number 3 or in the middle order for Pakistan. A compact batsman with sound technique and enormous amounts of patience, Ali has all the attributes to be at the top level given he remains consistent. His next priority however will be to cement his place in ODIs and T20s.
